My mains interests are: actual risks of cycling; the factors that influence the risks; risks of cycling versus other modes of travel; how public perceptions of risk compare with actual risks. There may be feedback between public perception and actual risk in cycling. The way that helmets are recommended/compelled in use may affect such feedback, so is a factor in optimisation of their use.
